In 2020, the CFO Coalition for the Sustainable Development Goals asked me to design and develop a complete web platform with a premium membership experience for connecting Chief Financial Officers on sustainable development.
I leveraged Material Design standards to create the infrastructure for a product experience that could be launched quickly using Webflow CMS.
Many elements of this project required me to use JavaScript skills to deliver an interactive experience with data.
I also needed to develop a design system language for the premium experience, applying the UN's brand palette in CSS with Material Design / MUI standards.
More recently, I used this project as a starting point to explore Material Design / MUI component kits. These designs were never used but demonstrate how the platform could scale in the future.
As conceived, the platform connects executives across corporate and national boundaries in an asynchonous way. It helps users manage their participation in the Coalition through meetings, workshops, working groups, and data recording.
A key question to answer in developing this product further is better determining the problems it solves for the user.
To drive greater participation and adoption, more research is needed to understand how CFOs expect to interact with the UN, what goals they have for participating, and what needs they can fulfill through a web interface.
My user research proposal will build on current work for the CFO Coalition membership campaign, focusing on public facing communications.
