Resilient food systems workshop

In spring 2024 I collaborated with a team from the University of Washington to ideate solutions for urban resilience in Seattle in the face of a natural disaster. I contributed UX expertise to a group comprised of urban design and planning specialists, helping to guide and shape a hackathon process for a judging panel from Microsoft, Amazon, and local government.

The Food Responders project took top recognition from the judges, was featured in GeekWire, and lives as an ongoing project on the DemocracyLab platform.

A key to success in organizing and communicating our team's ideation was to focus strongly on user needs, framing problem statements and "how might we" brainstorming using a design thinking approach.
